Video Summary
In the IHS webinar, Dr. Miles Aaron, co-founder and COO of Neurotone AI, introduced Lace AI Pro, an AI-driven auditory training app designed to complement hearing aids and enhance patient outcomes. Highlighting the public health crisis of untreated hearing loss and its links to cognitive decline and dementia, Dr. Aaron emphasized that hearing aids alone are insufficient. Oral rehabilitation, particularly auditory training, is crucial for retraining the brain to better process sound, improving speech comprehension, confidence, and device acclimation. Lace AI Pro offers five training modules—including speech in noise, rapid speech, working memory, deductive reasoning, and soon, speechreading—delivered via an easy-to-use app with an AI avatar named Lacey. The app personalizes difficulty through adaptive algorithms and uses engaging content like trivia, jokes, and “Voices” feature enabling training with loved ones’ voices. Clinically supported by over 10 trials and 20 years of research, Lace AI Pro improves hearing in noise by 12-25%, with lasting effects. The app is designed for wide patient use, including new and experienced hearing aid users, declined hearing aid patients, and those not ready for hearing aids. Lace AI Pro also benefits practices by providing a new revenue stream, reducing hearing aid returns, enhancing patient referrals, and differentiating providers in a competitive market. Future plans include multilingual support, a tinnitus app, and a kid-friendly version.
