Tinnitus Care Provider Certificate Program
The Tinnitus Care Provider Certificate Program is an accredited program designed for busy hearing healthcare professionals who want to gain knowledge, improve their skills, and expand their clinical practice with tinnitus care for patients/clients with hearing loss.
From October 16, 2026 to December 31, 2026: For the first time, IHS is offering a deep tuition discount to learners who agree to complete a 20-30 minute post-program evaluation survey to share candid feedback about their program experiences. Use a coupon code in the cart:

In order to earn the Certificate, learners must be licensed hearing healthcare professionals with a least 2 years of clinical experience; complete this course; and pass the assessment (exam).
Learners have unlimited access to the course for 6 months from their start date and it is self-paced. You are allowed 2 attempts on the assessment exam to pass.
The first exam attempt must be completed within 180 days of starting the course (the day you actually begin the coursework, which may or may not be the same as the purchase date).
Upon passing the exam, learners will receive a high-quality wall certificate in the mail along with a media kit for announcing your accomplishment to your patients/clients and community.

Meet Your Instructors
Richard Tyler, PhD, MSc, The scientist behind it all: Dr. Richard Tyler has been directing research on tinnitus, cochlear implants, and more at the University of Iowa for decades. He founded and hosts the annual Tinnitus Treatment Conference at the University of Iowa and is renowned for his extensive publications including well-known clinical questionnaires, protocol for measuring tinnitus, and his original Tinnitus Activities Treatment which focuses on the core areas of distress most often cited by patients struggling with bothersome tinnitus. Dr. Tyler partnered with the International Hearing Society to create this critical tinnitus education for hearing aid specialists because he knows that the best way to help more tinnitus patients is to train the clinicians seeing them every single day.
Keith Darrow, PhD, CCC-A, The communications mastermind: Dr. Darrow is an MIT and Harvard educated neuroscientist - and that may not be the most impressive thing about him! Dr. Darrow is known for his relentless pursuit of evidence-based treatment and development of learning for ALL hearing healthcare professionals and their patients. He is a champion of private practice in hearing healthcare, a foremost author on the relationships between hearing loss, tinnitus, and cognitive decline, and founder of the Hearing and Brain Centers of America and the Excellence in Audiology network.
John Hoglund, ACA, BC-HIS, The patient care guru: John Hoglund has been involved in the IHS Tinnitus Care Provider course since the early discussions nearly 15 years ago. He was invited to participate based on his tremendous success as the owner of a multi-disciplinary and multi-location hearing and tinnitus clinic in southwest Florida. His engaging style and personal flair make him an ideal educator of both patients and clinicians.
